Niq is a documentary and commercial editor, a native New Yorker and an 80’s baby. Her family moved from Brownsville, Brooklyn to Central Harlem in the early 90's. It was at the Schomburg library, reading poetry by Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou, that she began to understand the power that came with telling Black stories, unapologetically.
She attended Long Island University as a Video Production major and later, the Art Institute of NYC as a video production major.
Her more recent visual works include documentary, short films, and branded content that are grounded in celebrating the nuances of Black culture.
